Benefits of Adding Shade to Your Park Playground

If you're looking to add a dog agility course to your community, it’s helpful to choose a dog park package because it has everything you need right out of the box. Park and Rec Pros has preconfigured dog park agility courses that are packaged and ready to go.

You can also add a few additional pieces of equipment onto your package, such as a pet drinking fountain or bench. Either way, it’s easy to design and build a dog park that fits your needs and budget with us!

Let’s cover some tips on selecting a dog park package for your community.

Determine Your Budget

First and foremost, you need to know what budget you’re working with. If you have a limited budget, it might be best to pick a few pieces of agility equipment and then add more over time. But, if you have a larger budget to work with, are looking for convenience and hoping to get the most value for your dollar, a dog park package is ideal.

Our middle-of-the-road option is our Dog’s Best Friend package. It’s affordably priced and provides six different activities. We also have smaller and larger packages to choose from. All in all, you can expect to spend between $5,000 and $20,000 on a dog park.

Assess Your Space

Another factor to consider is the space you're working with. If you’re placing the dog park in an urban space or alongside an existing playground, you may only have room for a small and compact dog park. Our Pawsitively Playful Dog Agility Package only requires a use space of 30’ x 27’.

On the other hand, if you have a wide open space to work with, you have a lot more options. Our Best in Show Dog Park Package, for instance, includes all of our dog park components and requires a use space of 51’ x 52’. Also consider the natural landscape. Are there places to put benches? Is there shade for pets and humans to cool off?

Pick Your Course Level

Just as playgrounds have different ‘levels,’ dog agility courses do as well. Do you want to offer your community a beginner course with basic equipment like jump throughs and step ups, or do you want something more advanced? There is no right or wrong decision, it all depends on what type of dog park you’re looking to provide.

More advanced courses, like our Master Companion Dog Park Package, are challenging and designed to improve the strength and agility of all types of dogs. It goes beyond standard equipment by providing dogs with more obstacles, such as planks and hurdle jumps.

Think About Add-Ons

All dog park agility packages have everything you need to build a successful dog park. But, you’ll definitely want to consider a few add-ons to make your park more comfortable for pet owners and their pets. This way, they’ll want to visit more often and stay longer!

Some options to consider include pet drinking fountains, park seating, waste management, dog park surfacing, fencing and signage. You can add these features over time - Park and Rec Pros makes it easy to do this! Let us know what you need and we’ll provide you with an accurate price estimate and ship to you right away!
